聲光調(diào)制是一種外調(diào)制技術(shù),通常把控制激光束強度變化的聲光器件稱作聲光調(diào)制器。聲光調(diào)制技術(shù)比光源的直接調(diào)制技術(shù)有高得多的調(diào)制頻率;與電光調(diào)制技術(shù)相比,它有更高的消光比(一般大于1000:1),更低的驅(qū)動功率,更優(yōu)良的溫度穩(wěn)定性和更好的光點質(zhì)量以及低的價格;與機械調(diào)制方式相比,它有更小的體積、重量和更好的輸出波形。 其工作原理簡述如下:
聲光調(diào)制器由聲光介質(zhì)和壓電換能器構(gòu)成。當(dāng)驅(qū)動源的某種特定載波頻率驅(qū)動換能器時,換能器即產(chǎn)生同一頻率的超聲波并傳入聲光介質(zhì),在介質(zhì)內(nèi)形成折射率變化,光束通過介質(zhì)時即發(fā)生相互作用而改變光的傳播方向即產(chǎn)生衍射 聲光調(diào)制器AOM
