脂肪細(xì)胞是機(jī)體代謝的中心,并且在其形成過(guò)程和生命周期中發(fā)揮著非常重要的作用。在肥胖和哺乳期間,脂肪細(xì)胞會(huì)發(fā)生顯著的變化。所以,了解這種細(xì)胞在這兩種代謝過(guò)程中的作用具有重要意義。
考慮到細(xì)胞中細(xì)胞器內(nèi)質(zhì)網(wǎng)為了適應(yīng)合成過(guò)程中波動(dòng)的重要性,研究人員探索了在脂肪細(xì)胞形成和發(fā)揮功能的過(guò)程中,內(nèi)質(zhì)網(wǎng)的適應(yīng)性應(yīng)答的關(guān)鍵調(diào)節(jié)因子X(jué)BP1的作用。但是,研究中卻發(fā)現(xiàn),當(dāng)給老鼠飼喂高脂膳食的時(shí)候,脂肪細(xì)胞XBP1的缺失對(duì)脂肪細(xì)胞的形成和代謝的穩(wěn)定性都沒(méi)有明顯的影響。
然而,在老鼠的哺乳期,研究人員發(fā)現(xiàn),和正常老鼠相比,XBP1缺失的老鼠,會(huì)過(guò)度肥胖,產(chǎn)奶量減少,同時(shí)幼崽生長(zhǎng)緩慢。更重要的是,研究人員還發(fā)現(xiàn)XBP1在老鼠哺乳期間具有調(diào)節(jié)作用,它會(huì)響應(yīng)催乳素的調(diào)節(jié),從而調(diào)節(jié)脂肪生成基因的表達(dá)。所以這項(xiàng)研究的意義在于揭示了脂肪細(xì)胞XBP1在哺乳期間代謝具有調(diào)控作用。

The adipocyte is central to organismal metabolism and exhibits significant functional and morphological plasticity during its formation and lifespan. Remarkable transformations of this cell occur during obesity and lactation, and thus it is essential to gain a better understanding of adipocyte function in these two metabolic processes. Considering the critical importance of the cellular organelle endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in adapting to fluctuations in synthetic processes, we explored the role of XBP1, a central regulator of ER adaptive responses, in adipocyte formation and function.
